Janice Louise Jamison, 88, of Foreman, Arkansas, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026.

Janice, lovingly known as Jan to her friends and family, was born November 5, 1937, in

Lincoln, Minnesota, to Arnie Edward and Gladys Nielsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 58 years, James Jamison; three brothers, Jerry, Gary, and Roger Nielsen; one son, Jeff Jamison; and one grandson, Jeffry Jamison.

and 20 great-grandchildren.

During her childhood, Jan and her family lived in many states due to her father's occupation.

She and her family moved nearly every year until she graduated high school, living in Pennsylvania, California, South Dakota, and finally settling in Arkansas.

It was Fayetteville, Arkansas, while attending nursing school that she met the love of her life, James.

She and James were married for 58 years before his passing in 2017.

In 1962, they moved to Foreman when James accepted an engineering position with Ash Grove Cement Plant. They made Foreman their lifelong home.

Jan was a devoted homemaker and provided childcare in her home for many years, nurturing and caring for countless children in the community. She was very active in the community and was always involved in her children's activities as they grew up in the Foreman and Texarkana area.

Jan and Jimmy were longtime members of the TexArk Antique Auto Club in Texarkana and the surrounding area. They proudly drove their two antique cars in many parades and town events, cherishing every mile and the friendships they made along the way.

Jan will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to family, and the joy she found in serving others and being involved in her community.
