Janice Faye Johnson, age 83, of Warren, passed away on February 15, 2025. She was born in Murray, KY to James Dudley and Mary Frances Hughes on June 28, 1941.
Shortly after Janice was born, her family relocated to Detroit, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Redford High School in 1959. Throughout much of her life, Janice was an active member of Central Oaks Community Church, from its beginnings in Highland Park to its current location in Royal Oak. She served the church faithfully as a pianist and organist for many years. The church held a special place in her heart and was a central part of her life.
Janice will be remembered as the beloved wife of the late Robert Wilson, who passed in 1997; and the late Richard Johnson, who passed in 2016.; loving mother of Jeffrey (the late Leisa) Wilson, Jeanne (Matthew) Chriss, and John (Debbie) Wilson; proud grandmother of Benjamin (Michele) Wilson, Nathan (Katie) Wilson, Olivia (Dustin) Ebenstein, Nicholas Wilson, Allison (Lane) Wells, and Emily Chriss; great-grandmother of five girls; and dear sister of JoAnn (Doyle) Pirtle and Betty (Chuck) Sutton. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Janice will be held on Saturday, February 22, from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11:30 a.m., at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you please consider a donation in Janice's memory to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org ).
