LEXINGTON- Janice "Jan" Kay (Travis) Johnston, age 61, of Lexington passed away very suddenly in her home on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Jan was born on December 18, 1964 to Clare and Rosella "Rosie" (Quinn) Travis in Yale, Michigan.

She grew up in Lexington and graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1984.

She was married on April 8, 1994 in Croswell, Michigan to Kevin D. Johnston.

Jan was a great friend to many and took great pride in her kids and grand kids. She loved to create beautiful artwork, including glass cutting, painting, wood burning and many other things of that nature. She enjoyed warm beach days and going on adventures in the side by side and golf cart.

Surviving Jan are her loving husband, Kevin D. Johnston of Lexington; son, Craig T. (Ashley) Hammond, Jr. of Lexington; daughter, Samantha (Dustin) Sheldon of Burtchville; step sons, Steven (Jessica) Johnston of Croswell and Shawn (Marissa) Johnston of Croswell; nine grandchildren, Aspen, Braden, Hunter, Stevie, Liam, Kole, Leilla, Kylee, and Adalynn; her step mother, Linda Travis; her brother, Jed (Donna) Travis; many nieces and nephews and friends; and her beloved dog, Mollie.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Rosie Travis and her four brothers, Jon, Jerry, Jay and Joel.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life at the Croswell American Legion on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2-7 P.M., with a time of sharing and memories of Jan at 3 P.M.
