Janice "Jan" Jorgenson, 88, of Olympia, WA, passed away on February 25, 2025, after a battle with renal disease. She was born on August 5, 1936, in Olympia, WA, to Clyde and Marie Stuart.
Jan was a proud graduate of Olympia High School. She married the love of her life, G. Kenneth Jorgenson, on January 8, 1955, in Tacoma, WA. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and hard work.
She dedicated her career to WA State L&I (Labor & Industries) and was known for her sharp mind and problem-solving skills. A devoted member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Jan found joy in her faith community and cherished the friendships she made there.
Her passions included gardening and spending quality time with her family. She had a warm and generous spirit, always ensuring her loved ones felt cared for and supported.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, G. Kenneth Jorgenson; her daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Knittel; her parents, Clyde and Marie Stuart; her sisters, Lorraine and Jeanette; and her brothers, Frank, Bud, Jerry, and George.
She is survived by her children, Mark Jorgenson (Centralia, WA), David Jorgenson (Las Vegas, NV), and Karen Raines (Olympia, WA); her brothers, James and Donald; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on March 9, 2025, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2109 College St, Lacey, WA starting at 2:00 PM.
Jan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
