Janice Kay Malmgren, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 17, 1942, in Canton, Illinois, Janice was the beloved daughter of George Nelson Malmgren and Mabel Andrews Malmgren. She grew up in Illinois and attended Farmington High School, where she began to develop the kindness and warmth that would define her life-long relationships.

For over 40 years, Janice touched the lives of many as a dedicated massage therapist, a career through which she provided comfort and healing to her clients. Her profession was a reflection of her compassionate spirit, and she was known not only for her skills but also for her ability to listen and connect with those around her.

A woman of Christian faith, Janice valued her connections to family and community above all. She found joy in spending time with her daughter Sonya Moreno and her husband Joe, and her grandchildren Emily Greene and her husband Justin, Zachary Moreno and his wife Veaney, and Jacob Moreno. Her life was further brightened by her great-grandsons, Jaxon, Jude, and Jennings Greene, who brought her endless joy and laughter.

Janice was the loving sister to Bill and his wife Nancy Malmgren, Kathy and her husband Joe Sunders, John and his wife Bobbie Malmgren, and Steve and his wife Julie Malmgren. She leaves behind a wide circle of nieces and nephews, including Joe Malmgren, Michael Brush, Zachary Malmgren, Andrew Malmgren, Stephanie Roper, Leandra Roper, Michael Cortez, Kimberly Cortez, Olivia Cortez, Parys and Hugh Patterson, and Alex and Samantha Malmgren, all of whom remember her with love and fondness.

Preceding her in death were her parents, George and Mabel A. Malmgren, and her brothers, Clyde “Jack” Malmgren, Nelson “Buddy” Malmgren, and Albert “Butch” Brush, as well as her nephews Scott Malmgren and Travis Roper. Their memories will forever be cherished by those left behind.

Janice's passions extended beyond her professional endeavors. She filled her days with traveling, caring for her many pets, and enjoying the company of family and friends. Her warm heart and infectious smile will be profoundly missed.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided support during Janice’s illness, especially those who visited, called, or sent messages of love and encouragement. Janice Kay Malmgren's legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
