Janice Miller Obituary

Janice Sue Miller, beloved wife, mother, and "Gamma," passed away on September 3, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born on August 17, 1954, in Pratt, Kansas, to William Raymond Reiter and Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Dunn) Reiter.

Janice cherished her childhood in Pratt, where life was always lively in a home full of kids. She especially treasured the time spent with her beloved Grandma, Nannie Dunn.

In 1971, just before the start of her senior year, the family moved to Sterling, Kansas, where her father opened Bill Reiter Chevrolet. Janice graduated from Sterling High School in 1972 and went on to attend Brown-Mackie Business School in Salina, Kansas.

Though she spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma, Janice remained a Kansas Jayhawk at heart. In the summer of 1981, she met the love of her life, Rick Miller. They were married on November 27, 1981, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Armed with equally quick wits, Janice and Rick shared a joyful, banter-filled marriage and celebrated 43 wonderful years together in 2024.

Janice's world revolved around her family, whom she loved deeply. She and Rick were endlessly proud of their four children: Justin (Katie), Jason, Tiffany, and Brittany (Brayden). But it was in her role as "Gamma" that Janice truly shined. Her grandchildren-Alec, Jase, Claire, Kate, Lane, Anna, Mickey, and Lucy-held the most special place in her heart. She never missed an opportunity to love and spoil them.

When not caring for her grandchildren, Janice enjoyed working puzzles, birdwatching, and spending time with her beloved African Grey parrot, Pepper.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gary Raymond Reiter; her sister, Sharon Lynn Reiter; and her nephew, Aaron Lee Padgett.

Janice leaves behind a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, including her devoted husband, Rickey; her children and grandchildren; and her two brothers, Steve (Kim) Reiter and John (Karla) Reiter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 1500 West Vandament Avenue, Yukon, OK. Janice will be laid to rest at the Yukon Cemetery, 660 Garth Brooks Boulevard, Yukon, OK.
