Obituary of Janice Paetznick
Janice Rae Jasper, Sobczak, Paetznick 72, born June 2nd, 1952, died Friday, November 22nd peacefully at her home in Duluth. Jan was born in Duluth and remained in Duluth her entire life.
She was a lifelong resident of Duluth and a proud graduate of Morgan Park High School. Through the years Jan enjoyed attending her children's sporting events, camping, and taking holiday decorating to the next level. She was a proud grandmother and loved bragging about her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. Jan loved being in nature and enjoyed daily walks on the state trail. She was known for her sense of humor, love of Todd Eckart's live music, and her big heart. She will be missed by her family, dear friends, and the gang at the American Legion.
She is survived by her son Shane Sobczak and her two granddaughters Ava and Olivia Garitano, her loving sisters Gayle Welter, Jackie Moe, Joette Sloan.
Her parents Bill and Lorraine Jasper preceded her in death as well as her daughter Nicole Garitano. She was married to Robert Allen Sobczak who also preceded her in death. She remarried Vernon Paetznick who also preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday December 7th between 11:00am and 3:00pm at the West Duluth American Legion Post 71.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made on behalf of Jan to the American Legion Post 71.
