Janice (Miller) Patten, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026. Private family inurnment will be held at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Janice was born January 19, 1938, with her twin sister, Judith, in Cedar Rapids, to parents Richard and Angeline (Novotny) Miller. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Wilson High School. On March 17, 1956, Janice married Robert Patten and had one daughter, Cathy Marie. She worked at Rockwell Collins from 1957-1993. After retiring, Janice worked part-time at Kirkwood Community College for ten years. She loved being a twin. She enjoyed country music, dancing, golf, and fishing.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Cathy Birch of Toronto, Canada; her twin sister, Judith Rich of Robins, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Patten; her parents, Richard and Angeline Miller; her two brothers, Wilbur Miller and his wife, Joan, and Harold Miller and his wife, Beverly; her two sisters, Marlene and her husband, Vern Shrimper, and Millie and her husband, Robert Louvar; and her brother-in-law, Dale Rich.
