69 year old, Janice K. Patton, of DeMotte, passed away on May 5, 2025, at home with her loving family around her.
On December 4, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, Janice was born to Ivan and Nan (Dodge) Butler. She grew up in Oklahoma but lived in many states throughout her lifetime. Janice was a member of the Otoe-Missouria tribe. She was a beautiful soul and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her strength, courage, fighting spirit, and loving heart touched the lives of many. Whether you were a close family member or had just met her, Janice showed compassion, kindness and love to everyone she met. She filled those around her with love, support, and memories that would last a life time. Janice loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Being a Nana was one of the greatest joys of her life. From special trips and travels, to pool days, themed parties and holiday celebrations, Janice made sure to fill their childhood with memories of fun and laughter.
Janice is survived by her children: Tina (Eric) Whitson, Ricki Patton, grandchildren: Tessa Whitson, Taylor (Corey Davis) Whitson, Serenity Roberts, Kieran Case, great-grandchildren: Phoenix, Sav, Leo, special friend: Ric Patton, siblings: Pam (Ralph) Kilgore, Mary Jo (Bob) Maag, and Dory Scharer, and many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded by her parents, and brother: Joe Butler.
Per Janice’s wishes cremation will take place.
A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Janice was an incredible role model and admired by so many. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
