Janice Winnette Perry

PERRY - Janice Winnette Perry, age 72, of Social Circle, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. A Visitation will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Monroe. A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 677 American Legion Road NE, Conyers, Georgia 30012. Janice lived by the philosophy that no animal was ever "just" a pet. Her home was a sanctuary, whether she was rescuing a stray cat or other animals, she poured her heart into every creature under her care. She loved horses and held a special place in her heart for them. Janice was a member of the Rockdale Trailblazers and enjoyed trail riding whenever she could. Janice had a wonderful dog, Lucy, who was a constant companion. They shared a bond built on loyalty and unconditional love. When she wasn't tending to her animals, she could often be found with a needle and thread in hand. As a talented at-home craftswoman, she found peace in her sewing. Janice was known for the pride she took in caring for her yard; creating life in front of her home with flowers and cutting her grass was something she found enjoyable. She also found great joy in the simple freedom of the open road. She loved her silver Volkswagen Eos, which many will remember her trips, especially to the beach, in her car. Janice loved the beach. The sand and waves were her retreat while sitting in her chair and watching the sunset. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be deeply missed. Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas & Gloria (Daughtery) Blackburn; siblings, Douglas Blackburn, Jr, and Judy Blackburn. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gene Perry; children, Melissa (Bryan) Powell and Bryan Perry; grandchildren, Ansley Powell Lester, Alyssa Powell, and Chance Perry; many nieces and nephews.
