Janice Charlene Plant

PERRYSVILLE: Janice Charlene Plant passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, in LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, surrounded by her family. She was 88.
She was born on March 8, 1937, to parents Charles & Catherine (Simmers) Aukerman in Perrysville, Ohio, and she attended Perrysville High School with the class of 1955.
Janice worked in the housekeeping department for Apple Creek State Hospital, Colonial Manor, Gruters Foundation, and retired from Westview Manor Nursing Home in 2002.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was always ready for her next craft to create.
She is survived by her daughters Connie (Larry Tomcho) Nickelson, Melanie Miller, and Sandy (John) Utterback; her 11 grandchildren; her 18 great-grandchildren; her 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother Charles Aukerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Clarence Lemon and Bonnie Howerter, and an infant son; her son-in-law, Jim Howerter; her great-grandson, Sebastian; and her siblings, Ted Aukerman, Catherine Sovine, her twin sister, Joyce Aukerman, Geraldine Fisher, and Mary Lou Steele.
Janice's family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home- Lindsey Chapel, Loudonville, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m.
