Janice Elizabeth Redmon, 77, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Lexington, KY. Janice was born on March 14, 1948, in Lexington, KY, to the late John Frank Dunn and Sara Darnell Dunn. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky. She was a bookkeeper for many years at Lexington Theological Seminary and the KY Blood Center. Janice was an avid reader and animal lover who spent a lot of time enjoying the Lexington Senior Center. Janice was known for her wicked sense of humor and love of flying birds.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Leigh Cobb, of Lexington, KY; her son, Jonathan Albert Cobb, Lexington, KY; grandson, Zachary Hounshell. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Richard Michael Charles Cobb; sister, Dorothy Dean Dunn Mills; and brothers, James Rodney Dunn and John Wayne Dunn.

Angela would like to send her most sincere gratitude to the staff of The Willows at Hamburg. Janice received exceptional care and built great relationships with staff and residents. Her caregivers (her gurls/posse) were a huge part of Mom's life always finding new ways to engage and communicate. They graciously taught her a number of ASL signs, got matching tattoos, and supported her through the journey. They're amazing. We as a family will always be indebted to them.

A gathering of family and friends will be 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday August 28, 2025, Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Team Gleason Foundation, ALS Association, or The Lexington Humane Society.

I met Janice two years ago when I began visiting my late husband Nigel who was in care at The Willows. He and I often sat after lunch in the courtyard where she was a constant presence, in full sunlight and with her face always upturned to the sun. She brought laughter and sunshine to all of us who knew and loved her. I shall treasure the memory of her good humor, courage, and smiling face with great admiration and affection. Requiescat in pace, my dear friend.
