Janice Arlene Rosane was born May 18, 1936, at the Nebraska Children's Home in Omaha, NE. At three months old her parents, Charlie Harold and Kitty Viola (Dowler) Chase, adopted her. Janice was baptized at the Baptist church in Elsmere, NE. She attended school in Elsmere, NE through the eighth grade and later graduated from Halsey High School in 1953.

On November 20, 1953, Janice married the love of her life, James Marvin "Marty" Rosane, in Ainsworth, NE. The couple made their home in Ainsworth before settling in St. Edward, where they spent the past 67 years building a life together and raising their family.

Janice devoted many years to serving her community. She worked as a school bus driver for St. Edward Public Schools for 31 years, a job she loved, because of the children she drove each day.

Janice was a woman of strong faith and was active in church throughout her life, including Elsmere Baptist Church, and currently St. Edward Christian Community Church. She was also involved in many community and church activities, including the United Women church group and a local bowling league. Janice generously volunteered her time with the Blood Mobile, served as an Election Day volunteer, helped at the local food pantry, and volunteered with Shepherd's Closet.

Janice enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved flowers and gardening, baking and sharing her homemade cookies and cinnamon rolls with everyone, and spending time visiting with friends and family. She also enjoyed playing slot machines. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Carmen Miller of Phoenix, AZ; Britt (Heidi) Rosane of Nebraska City, NE; and Lisa (Curt) Werner of St. Edward, NE; six grandchildren: Amanda (Matt Tucker) Miller of Jackson, MI; Andrea (Matt Blackburn) Miller of Mesa, AZ; Jay (Christa) Rosane of Summerville, SC; Natalie (Austin) Eilers of Omaha, NE; Clayton Werner of St. Edward, NE; and Cortney (Bart) Miller of Valentine, NE; seven great-grandchildren: Jase and Finley Rosane; Abram and Owen Eilers; and Dentlee, GW, and Taw Miller; brother: Mickey (Beth) Chase of Ainsworth, NE, dear friends: Doris Wurdeman and Jennie Christman; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marty Rosane; brother: Clayton (Carol) Chase; and her dear friend, Ardath Davidson.
