Janice Sue Rose, age 76 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Revelo, Kentucky on November 25, 1947 the daughter of Clarence and Velva (Dobbs) Winchester. Janice had worked as a machine operator in the Maytag Factory and was a member of the Old Beech Grove United Baptist Church. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, holding a special love for her great grandchildren and some dear nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Manford Winchester and Denver Winchester.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Gary Rose of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; son Gary Lee Truax of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter, Sheila Jones (Daniel) of Whitley City, Kentucky; brothers, Charles Winchester, Larry Winchester, Roger Winchester all of Stearns, Kentucky and Ronne Winchester of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Shirley Gibson, Brenda Taylor, and Barbara Berry all of Stearns, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, August 2, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Rufus Hughes and Bro. Terry West officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
