Janice Flora Sampier (Zins) of Bay City, loving wife , mother, grandmother and gigi, affectionately known as “Grama Kitty” entered into eternal glory on October 25th, 2024. She passed away at the Toni and Trish house in Auburn and was received into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 72. Janice was born January 4th, 1952 in Bay City, MI to the late Edward and Marjorie Zins. She married Daryl L. Sampier on May 9th, 1970 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Bay City, MI.
She is survived her loving husband Daryl and their three children Stacie (Michael) Wingeier, Amy (Brian) Srebinski, and Daniel (Vickie) Sampier all of Bay City, sixteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two “sisters” Betty Zins and Judy Skornia.
Janice was an active, lifelong member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering for many church activities and on many committees over the years. She retired from Bay City Public School Food Service in 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards with her “sisters”, sewing and she loved her kittycats.
Her family would like to thank the great staff and volunteers of the Toni and Trish House and Hartland Hospice for the great care she received and for helping us through this difficult time. A memorial service will be conducted at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 706 W. Jane St. Bay City, MI 48706 on Saturday November 9th at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Schaewe. Friends may call at 10:00 am. Memorial contribution should be made out to Toni & Trish House or St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
