Janice Delores Shuff, born September 2, 1949, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on December 25, 2024, in Picayune, MS.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wandia Holmes; her siblings, Lewis Holmes, Fred Holmes, and Jimmy Holmes; and one daughter, Angelina Alfonso. She is survived by her husband, Charles Shuff; her two children, Terry L. (Tracy) Alfonso, and Jennifer (Al) Chartier; her siblings, Wanzie (Glen) Taylor, and James (Corliss) Holmes; her seven grandchildren, Allie (Christian) Ashford, Trevar Alfonso, Caleb Alfonso, Kayla Chartier, Alvin Chartier, Sophie Chartier, and Luke Chartier; and two great-grandchildren, Kyler Ashford, and Amara Ashford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Janice lived an exciting life filled with adventure and travel. She was born in Biloxi, MS but raised in St. Bernard Parish, LA. Her first career was as a beautician, where Janice owned a beauty salon. Janice's desire for adventure and a better life led her to become a card dealer on the Las Vegas Strip. Janice was an avid windsurfer and went to the Windsurfing World Championship in the Bahamas. Her latter years were spent married to her childhood sweetheart in her dream home on the lake. Janice's pleasure came from her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, gardening, and time spent playing cards with family and friends. Janice will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy lives on through the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, for whom she was so proud. A celebration of life service will be held on January 11, 2025, beginning at 3:00 p.m., at Journey Fellowship Church in Slidell, LA. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Shuff family during this time and would ask that remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
