Janice Lynn Stanford, 73, passed away at her home in Little Rock on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Janice was born July 4, 1951 in Arkadelphia to Stanley and Louise (Hardage) Stanford. She grew up and attended school in Arkadelphia.
After graduating from Arkadelphia High School, she went to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and graduated there in 1973 with a journalism degree. While at the University, she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She remained an avid fan of the Arkadelphia Badgers and the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Janice worked for Gastroenterology Asso. of Arkansas for forty-three years.
After retiring, Janice tutored reading at several Little Rock elementary schools and enrolled in exercise and adult education classes. She was always busy!
Janice is survived by several cousins and a myriad of friends. She was a kind, loving person who never met a stranger; a true friend to many.
She was a devoted Christian, who was raised in First Baptist in Arkadelphia. At the time of her death, she was a member of Saint Andrew’s Anglican church in Little Rock.
Pallbearers are Todd Holder, Scott Jones, Chris Echols, Tim Hall, Dr. Kevin Jones, Blake Bell, Ronnie Echols, and Bill Wright.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Jones, Jim Dunlap and the Physicians and Staff at Gastroenterology Associates in Little Rock.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15, at 1:00 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home in Arkadelphia with The Rt. Reverend Robert Cook officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent in Janice’s memory to a charity of your choice.
