Jan Ward, aged 79, of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 12, 2024. Born and raised in Handley, TX, Jan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Jan graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in education. She taught second grade at Wimbish Elementary School until becoming a mom, which was Jan's true passion. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike; her three daughters, Jill, Julie, and Jennifer, along with their husbands; and her seven cherished grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
As a North Davis Church of Christ praise team member, Jan expressed her love for the Lord through music and worship. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time outdoors, but her greatest joy came from being with her family. As a doting grandmother, she made every moment memorable and attended each event, activity, and program they were involved in.
Jan's youthful and sweet spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy of faith and love will live on in all who knew her.
Jan's life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2024, at North Davis Church of Christ in Arlington, TX. A viewing will be held at Wade Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
