Janice Ruth Ward (nee McKelvie), passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 88 in Moorestown, NJ. She was born on December 12, 1936, in Long Island City, NY, to the late James and Caroline McKelvie
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children: Susan Flor and her husband Patrick, Debra Strickland, and James Ward with his wife Kathleen. Janice was a cornerstone in the lives of her grandchildren, Nicole, Kyle, Dylan, Justin, Taylor, Kevin, Eric, and Brandon, all of whom she helped raise with unwavering dedication. Her love and legacy further extend to six great-grandchildren, who were fortunate enough to know their great grandmother's embrace.
Janice proudly served in the US Navy and met the love of her life, Randolph "Randy" T. Ward. Together, they embraced the joys and trials that life offered, until Randy's passing.
She found solace and excitement in camping, a pastime that allowed her to explore the great outdoors she held in such high regard. A fervent supporter of all Philadelphia Sports Teams, Janice was known for her enthusiastic cheering and loyalty, passions that often brought her family and friends together in shared excitement.
But beyond her hobbies and allegiances, was Janice's unending support of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her commitment to their upbringing and her presence in their lives were as steadfast as they were gentle. Janice was always willing to help, and this generosity of spirit was felt by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday October 17th at 11:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson Gibbsboro Rd., Gibbsboro, NJ. Entombment will follow at Eglington Cemetery Clarksboro, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
