Obituary of Janice G. Wohlwend

Age 85, of Plainfield, and formerly a longtime resident of the Nottingham Park neighborhood, passed away Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025.

She was born on August 25, 1939, to the late Grace (Mosterd) and Herman Doornbos in Chicago, where she was raised and educated on the South Side.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Michelle Wohlwend and Pamela (Michael, Jr) Camis; grandsons, Michael Camis III and Timothy Camis; great-grandson, Michael Camis, IV. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Wohlwend; her parents, and her sister, Alice Kuiken.

Janice was a woman of faith, who enjoyed going to bible study with her friends. She was also an avid Cubs fan.

All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd), Joliet, to process to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, for services and interment, beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
