Janis Joslin Obituary
Janis was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and practiced at Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL, and Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA where she also served on the board of the Humane Society. She ended her career as a Professor of Veterinary Medicine at Western University in Pomona, CA. She had a special place in her heart for Snow Leopard Conservation and research. She was a proud alumna of Northwestern University. Janis will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to Muzyka & Son Funeral Home.

I had the pleasure of working with Janis for several years. She was a wonderful vet and became a dear friend. I wish Jessica all the best and want her to know that her mother was loved and respected by many.

I worked with Dr. Janis when she was at Woodland Park Zoo. I always enjoyed my interactions with her, found her to be funny, fun and extremely knowledgeable about the animals in her care. She always welcomed me to the Animal Health Hospital and even allowed me to be present for some animal procedures. I know her daughter, other family and friends will miss her.
