Melba Joslin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 3, 2025.
Melba Joyce Joslin passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on September 26, 1932, in Blue Ridge, Texas, Melba was a woman of quiet strength and unwavering principles, whose life was a testament to her godly character. She was fortunate enough to marry the love of her life, Melvin Junior Joslin on January 31, 1956.

Melba was the cherished matriarch of a family that adored her. She is survived by her devoted son, Leslie Joslin and his wife Amy, her loving daughter, Michelle Burnett and her husband Greg, her treasured grandchildren, Josh Joslin and wife Heather, Brandon Joslin and wife Jordan, Ashley Burnett, and Drew Burnett, as well as her step-grandchildren, Marlaina Joslin and husband Ricky and Ethan Straley. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Alexys and husband Zach, Hudson J., Asa, Marion, Andra, Eli, and Hudson M. who brought immense joy to her later years. Melba was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Joslin, her dear son, Howard Joslin, her parents, Roland and Bertha Pryor, and her brothers, Benny Pryor and Charles Pryor.

A woman of few words but profound impact, Melba was known for her stoic nature, often expressing her love and care through her actions rather than words. Her daily devotion to reading the Bible was a cornerstone of her life, and her faith was as unwavering as it was private. She was a prayer warrior, often found in quiet contemplation, interceding on behalf of her loved ones and those in need.

Melba's stubborn streak was a source of gentle amusement for her family, who knew that her determined spirit was matched only by her capacity for love. Her fondness for sweets was legendary, and she could often be found indulging in a treat, a simple pleasure that she thoroughly enjoyed.

Music was a vital part of Melba's life, and she found great comfort and joy in gospel tunes that uplifted her spirit. Her love for watching her favorite programs on TV was well-known, providing her with moments of relaxation and connection to the world around her.

An avid reader, Melba's thirst for knowledge and love of stories kept her mind sharp. She was a caregiver at heart, always putting the needs of others before her own, and her nurturing presence was a source of strength for her family and friends.
