Janis Marie Lloyd

Janis Marie (Murphy) Lloyd, 68, of Meriden, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Thursday, August 1, 2024. She was the loving wife of John Lloyd.
Janis was born in Clinton, Iowa, May 2, 1956, the daughter of the late Frank J. and Edna A. (Behrens) Murphy. She graduated from St Ambrose College in Davenport IA with a degree in Elementary Education and started her career as a teacher in Clinton Ia. In 1978 she married John Lloyd and their 45 year loving partnership produced 3 children, Kelley, Aaron, and Katie. In 1985 the family moved to Connecticut. At this time Janis changed careers and became a district sales manager for Avon Products. She retired from Avon in 2012 and pursued her passions of crafting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Janis was a die hard Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, going to games on their home turf whenever possible.
Janis will be remembered for her warm heart, vivacious personality, and loving presence in the lives of her family and friends. She was nurturing and welcoming, and extended her care and kindness to friends, family and strangers alike. As a result, she created a home that was filled with love, laughter, warmth, deep connection, and belongingness. She is deeply missed.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her children, Kelley Rodriguez of Meriden, Aaron Lloyd and his wife Chrisoula "Chrissy" Biros of Cheshire, and Katie Lloyd of New Haven; her grandchildren, Braylon Rodriguez, Alexandra Nuzzolillo, and Elias Lloyd; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Angie Murphy of Clive, IA; her brother, Mike Murphy of Clinton, IA; her in-laws Susan Long, Sally Lloyd, Charles Lloyd, Daniel Lloyd, Denise Stetter, Amy Fergione and Mark Lloyd; as well as the "inlaw-outlaw club" (Jim Long, Irv Stetter, and David Fergione). She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Joe Murphy; her sister, Patricia Nance; and her brother-in-law, Andy Wong.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 6th, from 4 to 7pm at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 7th, at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Meriden Humane Society.
