Janis Waybrant Obituary

Janis was born on June 27, 1949, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Donald and Dorothy Jean (Calder) Eckardt. Janis was a graduate of Sault High School with the class of 1968. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching kids playing sports and loved to help coach from the side lines. She also loved Red Wings hockey. In the past, you could find Janis going for walks, going to the beach, skating on the pond, or people watching. Her creative side came out when she made hook rugs.
Janis is survived by her children: Wendy (Peter) McClenny of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Rusty Waybrant of South Bend, IN; one grandchild: Camren McClenny; her sister: Karen (Johnny) Wisner of Arizona; her brother: Marty (Jane) Eckardt of Rudyard, MI; a sister-in-law: Patti McCarthy of Sault Ste. Marie; and a special friend of the family: Sheere Fervida.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 10, 2023, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Friends may gather that same day at the funeral home starting at 2:00 PM.
