It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Mark Daniel Ames, who left us on September 27, 2025, at the age of 59. He was born on April 2,1966, in L'Anse, Michigan, to Herbert and Patricia (Manville) Ames. Mark was a gentle soul who moved through life with quiet kindness and a deep love for the simple joys that made his world whole. Music was his favorite hobby, whether it was listening to an album, discovering new artists, or revisiting the classics, he found peace and meaning in every note. He loved working on his turntables, tape recorders and tuners. He also shared a special bond with his cat, Luna, who was more than a pet, she was a true companion through all of life's ups and downs. Their time together was a reflection of his gentle spirit and the joy that simple things brought him. Mark will be remembered for his warm presence, thoughtful conversations, and the sheer happiness he showed each family member or friend when visiting with him. He was a devoted brother, a loyal friend, and someone who truly listened. Mark is survived by his father, Herbert Ames of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, sisters, Lisa (David) Belanger of Sault Ste. Marie, Sara (John) Brannan of Edmonds, Washington, Rachel Ames of Racine, Wisconsin, Rebecca (Mike) Smith of Dafter, Michigan; sister in-law, Stephanie Ames of Columbus, Georgia; and his close friend, Donna Irvin of Marinette, Wisconsin. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ames; and brother, Michael Ames. Though he may be gone from our sight, we will cherish our memories of happier times shared over pizza and watching the Green Bay Packers. Per Mark's wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Rest easy, Mark. Your song plays on. Family Life Funeral Homes – Sault Ste. Marie assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left to the family at www.familylifefh.com. Obituary as submitted by family.
