Janyce Mae (Gracie) Pendola, beloved wife and mother passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved widow of Joseph Pendola.
Janyce was born January 28, 1943 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Florence (Gertowsky) Gracie and her father Joseph Gracie. Janyce worked various jobs while raising her family until starting at the City of Waterbury Park and Recreational Department where she ran a preschool, an after-school program, summer camp and other recreational program at Washington Park. She was committed to every child she worked with and treated them with nurturance and such patience. There was nothing she wouldn't do for a child! She was artistically inclined and was an avid crocheter and craft maker. She loved music and was a lifelong fan of Johnny Mathis who she saw dozens of times live. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and we could not have asked for a more loving, kind and selfless mother.
She leaves her daughter Jennifer Pendola Baldino and her husband Steven Baldino, daughter Joy Pendola and her husband Gary Richards, her son Jason Pendola and his wife Jennifer (Snow) Pendola. She also leaves her sister-in-law Grace Pendola, two nieces and several cousins. She cherished her grand fur babies and the role of CeCe Jan to Viola Flowers. She was predeceased by her sister Marsha Jenks.

Arrangements: Funeral Monday June 17 at 10 AM from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Saint Francis Xavier Church to celebrate mass at 11 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of her family. Calling hours Monday morning from 9 to 10 AM at the funeral home.
