Jared Quincy Nelson, age 27, of Elkin, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Iredell County.
Jared was born July 18, 1997, in Surry County to Larry (Steve) Nelson and Linda Gentry Hines. He was the manager of A & J Rentals in Statesville.
Jared was a devoted and loving husband. He loved and adored his wife, Maranda, endlessly. You never saw one without the other. Their love for each other was indescribable. Jared will always be remembered for his contagious smile. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds. He was always willing to provide a helping hand to anyone. Jared loved hunting and fishing but loved his family more than anything. He treated each of his nieces and nephews as his own children. Each of them will hold a special bond with him forever. Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
Jared was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Cramer Gentry.
Survivors include his wife, Maranda Nelson of Elkin; father, Larry (Steve) Nelson of Ronda; mother and step-father, Linda and Christopher Hines of Elkin; brother, Matthew Nelson and Brittany of Ronda; paternal grandmother Rachel Nelson, paternal grandfather Larry Nelson, step paternal grandmother Darlene Nelson, special nieces and nephews, Levi Mabe, Hazel Mabe, Emery Weatherman, Elly Weatherman, Charleigh Deal, Rowan Nelson, and Noah Nelson, also several aunts and uncles. Jared is also survived by his in-laws, who will always hold a special place in their hearts for him.
A private celebration of life will be held by his family and close friends.
