Jared Lane Wike, 24, of Harrisburg, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, November 3, 2022, with family by his side at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Jared was born February 2, 1998, in Charlotte to Joel Lane Wike and Loretta Cochran Wike of Harrisburg. In addition to his parents, Jared is survived by his sister, Jessica Noelle Wike; grandmothers, Alice Covington Wike of Charlotte and Carolyn McAnulty Cochran of Harrisburg; uncle, Carl Dean Wike, Jr. (Mitchell) of Concord; aunts, Sheila Wike Isenhour (Dwight) of Mooresville, Teresa Cochran Brewer (Jeff) of Columbia, TN, and Selena Cochran Lemmond (David) of Concord; and cousins, Lindsay Isenhour; Nathan, Jonathan, Samuel, and Ethan Brewer; River, Josey, Savannah, David Jr., and Sierra Lemmond.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Dean Wike, Sr. and Carl Eugene Cochran.
Jared was a 2016 graduate of Hickory Ridge High School. After high school, Jared worked in the records department at Robinson Bradshaw Law Firm, Charlotte. Jared was studying to be an electrician. He enjoyed many things, including gaming, music, cooking, MMA, boxing, working out, running, weight lifting, and cycling. Jared loved all animals, but especially his pets. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, great smile, passionate work ethic, and creativity. Jared will be forever loved and dearly missed.
The memorial service in celebration of Jared's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Harrisburg Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Farley. The service will be webcast: https://video.ibm.com/channel/drygeSYpxX7 The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
