Michael Dean Morris of Harrisburg, NC lost his battle with depression and mental illness to suicide on September 8, 2025. We take comfort in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection, trusting he is now in God's presence and free from his pain. As an organ donor, Michael was able to positively impact many lives.
Born August 6, 1998 to Jeff and Trina Morris, Michael was a graduate of Hickory Ridge High School (2016) and Central Piedmont Community College (2021), and a lifelong Charlotte resident, having been a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Pitts Baptist Church, and Hopewell Baptist Church. Michael loved Jesus, his family, bible study, video games, his Beagles, good BBQ, Boy Scouts, playing drums and electric bass, and starting his IT career. Music was a thread throughout his life, playing the band in school and church. He was gentle, loving, and kind, always striving to be of help to others.
The Morris family of four loved quality time together—attending church, hanging out at home, enjoying trips to the beach, mountains, and Southeastern attractions. Michael especially cherished one-on-one times with his father, sharing a love of finance and praise music.
Michael is survived by his mother (Trina), sister (Christine), and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeff, grandparents, John and Ann Morris, Nancy Elizabeth (Betsy) Allison, and John Clifton Arant.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
A GoFundMe account has been created to honor Michael’s life and to cover unexpected expenses. Please contribute and/or share at https://gofund.me/de34a7ea1. The family encourages your support of mental health awareness, suicide prevention, or suicide loss survivor support.
