Jarvis Mahe Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Nov. 8, 2024.
Jarvis Tupua Mahe, 57, returned to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on November 3, 2024, in Murray, Utah. He was born on June 28, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Liahona and Cherie Mahe. He was sealed to the love of his life, Vanessa Lokelani Alip, in the Oakland, California Temple on December 22, 1990.
Jarvis attended Capuchino High School in San Bruno, California. In high school, he enjoyed playing many sports, including football, wrestling, and track. Recreationally, he played tennis, basketball, and volleyball. Jarvis loved his time working at Delta Airlines after high school. He was called to serve an LDS mission in Peoria, Illinois, from 1986 to 1988. After returning, he attended Ricks College and served in the Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer.
In college, Jarvis began studying Civil Engineering. He and Vanessa became engaged during this time, eventually moving to Daly City, California. Jarvis worked as an aircraft mechanic for United Airlines, and along the way, they were blessed with two children, Spencer and Jazlee. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1998.
In 2000, they welcomed their son Blaze, and the family moved to Elk Grove, California. Jarvis began his career with the California Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer, working on notable structures, including the Bay Bridge. He retired from Caltrans after 22 years.
In 2003, Jarvis and Vanessa welcomed Hunter. In 2006, Jarvis was called to serve as Bishop of the Liahona (Tongan) Ward, a role he loved, serving its faithful members. In 2008, the family was blessed with Ty. After being released as Bishop, Jarvis served as a Scout Master to many dedicated young men.
Jarvis was always involved in his children's church and sports activities, enjoying coaching his sons' basketball teams and being their #1 fan.
In May 2022, Jarvis and Vanessa felt inspired to move their family to Utah to be closer to their extended family. They joined and were warmly welcomed by the Karalee Ward, where Jarvis served as Teachers Quorum Specialist. He was grateful to work for AGEC, an engineering company, enjoying time with his son Blaze and other wonderful co-workers. Jarvis always hoped to work on projects involving temples.
Jarvis loved God and dedicated his life to His service. He cherished his beautiful wife Vanessa, his children Spencer (Arcelia), Jazlee (Lopeti), Blaze, Hunter, and Ty, and his grandchildren Kiara and Kekoa, with all his heart and soul. He knew his family would be together forever.
