Jasmine Damara Gordon Schulz, age 49, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025 after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer in 2024. She lived to love and be loved with her husband Michael of 23 years and their two children Duncan and Cecilia.

Born on March 25, 1976, in Lansing, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Grant Gordon and Catherine (Sims) Gordon Piper and stepfather Greg Piper.

Jasmine was a graduate of Bangor High School (Bangor, MI) and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. At the time of her passing, she was completing her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) – a testament to her lifelong dedication to learning, healing, and helping others.

Professionally, Jasmine served as Assistant Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences at BGSU, where she was known for her compassion, leadership, and dedication to students and colleagues alike. She took great pride in awarding scholarship money to students and helping organize events that provided access and opportunity to students and the community.

Jasmine had a vibrant spirit and shared a special bond with her family. She loved watching movies and shows with them, often quoting lines together with laughter. She also loved books. She would immerse herself in classics, like Dracula and Pride and Prejudice or re-read Stephen King novels like Carrie and The Shining – a reflection of her appreciation for both the thrilling and the timeless.

Her heart found peace near the water, and family vacations to Michigan's lakeshores brought her deep joy. She also loved dogs and puppies and playing games with family and friends.

Above all, Jasmine was a devoted mother. Her two children were her world, and she was their fiercest advocate and biggest fan.

Jasmine's legacy is one of love, kindness, and strength. She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Along with her loving husband Michael, Jasmine is survived by her mother Catherine, son Duncan Schulz, daughter Cecilia Schulz, brother Dustin (Jillian) Gordon, sisters Naomi VanSingel, Angie (Jim) Reurink, Erin (Jeremy) Sova, Whitney (Dillon) Norman, grandmother Jeanette Sims, in-laws Paul and Carol Schulz, and brother-in-law Adam (Tanya) Schulz.

She was preceded in death by her father, Grant Gordon, and grandparents James Sims, Donald and Edith Gordon.

A celebration of life for Jasmine will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday October 12, 2025, at the Simpson Garden Park in Bowling Green, OH.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Schulz family for an education fund for her son Duncan and daughter Cecilia.
