Joyce Chamberlain Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn Funeral Home - Bowling Green on Mar. 2, 2026.
Joyce Chamberlain, 81, of Bowling Green, Ohio, peacefully entered her eternal home on February 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Kemper House Memory Care in Strongsville, Ohio.

Joyce was born on July 16, 1944, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to Edgar and Roberta (Brown) Edens. From the very beginning, she carried with her a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a kindness that touched everyone she met.

On January 30, 1965, Joyce married the love of her life, Floyd F. Chamberlain, Jr. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to devotion and faith, spanning 60 years before Floyd's passing last April. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and unwavering commitment.

Joyce was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a faithful servant of the Lord. She was an active member of the Bowling Green Church of Christ and the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Killen, Alabama, where she joyfully participated in church life and fellowship. She especially loved singing during worship. Her faith guided her daily life and was evident in the way she loved and cared for others.

For 30 years, Joyce worked at Bowling Green State University, where she brought warmth and laughter to the Financial Aid and Human Resources offices. Her gentle humor, smile, and welcoming spirit brightened the days of coworkers and students alike. In her quieter moments, Joyce found joy in sewing and knitting, creating countless handmade gifts for her family, friends, and anyone in need.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness, generosity, faith, and unconditional love. Her warm smile, gentle touch, and tender "I love you" will be deeply missed.

The family extends a special and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Kemper House in Strongsville, Ohio, for the extraordinary compassion, dignity, and love they showed Joyce during her time there.

Joyce is survived by her beloved daughters, Lisa (Rick) Harrison, Lori (Tony) Fox, and Kristi (Tim) Semmelroth; her siblings, Fred (Lynsee) Edens, Terry (Lori) Edens, and Tammy (Ryan) Newell; seven cherished grandchildren; and two adored great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kennon and Alva Edens, and her beloved husband, Floyd.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historic District of Bowling Green, Ohio, at 408 W. Wooster Street. Visitation will take place one hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's honor to the Kemper House Memory Care Fund, 10890 Prospect Rd., Strongsville, OH 44149, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
