Jasmine Johnson Obituary
The life and legacy of Jasmine Elaine Johnson began September 29, 1992, in Jacksonville Florida; a beautiful baby girl to Alfrella Evelyn Ryals and Roosevelt Johnson. In her travels from Jacksonville Florida to Detroit Michigan, Jasmine graduated from The Pentecostal Church of God Christian Academy in Detroit MI June 2010 and was the Salutatorian of her class. She furthered her education at Michigan State University majoring in Performing Arts and studied at Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences. Jasmine first and foremost; loved the Lord with all her heart and knew her eternity was with God. She would say if God decided to come and take me home, I'll be ready. On Wednesday May 22, 2024, God said "It's time; you have fought a good fight and completed your task. Well, done my good and faithful servant. Jasmine loved her Church. She was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church of God where she was baptized according to her mother's faith under the late Bishop C.L. Rawls and remained under the current leadership of Bishop Charles Wilson, Sr., and the instruction of her Pastor Evangelist Kerry Collins. She worked side by side with her mother Alfrella as Assistance Youth Choir Director, involved in the STARS program, then agreed to fill in as Director of the youth Choir until her mother's return. No matter where her mom or the ministry needed her, she made herself available. She was a well-rounded talented young lady that enjoyed writing short stories, acting, singing, dancing and really loved to travel. Spending time with her family was always a priority. Jasmine's career focus was in the Banking Industry. She was last employed by J P Morgan, Chase Bank as a Title Analyst/Closer.
Jasmine was preceded in death by her grandmother: Ernell Elaine Allen; grandfather: Alfred Ryals, Sr.; and great aunt Pearline Sanders.
Jasmine leaves to cherish her precious memories, her devoted mother/best friend: Alfrella Evelyn Ryals; her loving brother: Justin Emon Peterson; uncles; Alfred Ryals, Jr. (Tara), Quinton Burden; aunts: Betty Davis, and Thomaisna Ryals; two sisters: Chayla Johnon and Jocelyn Johnson. Jasmine loved her lifelong best friend: Lydia Richardson; friends: Brianna Pittman, Shalanda Hall-Padgett; friends that were like family that she grew up with: Kay Kay (Kimberly), Kaitlyn, Karrie, Kassidy and Timothy Wiley. At her young age, she was involved with and loved all her great aunts and uncles. Zelner (Lisa), Pastor Larry Ryals (Linda), Cecil Ryals (Roberta); special family members: Angel Williams, Cherie Johnson, Eugenia Leonard, Lawanda Sloan; cousins: Brenda, Ervin Jr., Tisma Zelner, and especially "Goo Goo Girl", and Zaisha Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
