MIDDLETOWN, IN – Jason R. Abbott, 41, was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from St. Vincent Hospital 86th Street in Indianapolis. He was involved in a serious auto accident on August 11, 2025, and was never able to recover.

He was born on February 5, 1984, in Muncie to Eddie Abbott and Virjeanna Murray. Jason was a graduate of Shenandoah High School-Class of 2003. He had worked as a custodian at General Motors, Ball Hospital and Pavement Solutions. Jason was very mechanically inclined and was a meticulous "tinkerer" working with his hands and being extremely detail oriented. He was handy with many projects and enjoyed customizing his car. Jason was kind hearted, cheerful, fun- loving and never met a stranger. He dearly loved all of his family and was very protective of them. He will always be remembered for having a big heart, a beautiful smile and his unforgettable sense of humor.

Mother-Virjeanna Maddox of Middletown

Maternal Grandmother-Thelma (Phil) Warner of Anderson

Paternal Grandfather-Ernest Abbott in Florida

Paternal Grandmother-Esther Davis of Kentucky

Siblings- Kiely Mundell, Pierce Abbott, Lani Toten, Eric Abbott and Karlie Kilmer

And Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends

He was preceded in death by a son-Wyatt Jase Abbott, his father-Eddie R. Abbott, and maternal grandfather-Virgil D. Murray

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Jason's honor at 11:30 am Thursday, September 11, 2025, in Park View Cemetery, 1101 South Park Avenue, Alexandria. Pastor Roy Bond will officiate.

Jason's care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Flowers may be sent to Owens Funeral Home and any contributions may be sent to support Jason's Family Church: Church of God Full Gospel 4013 W 30th St. Muncie, IN 47302
