Jason Allen Obituary
Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, October 27, 2023, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, for Jason Edward Allen, 51, who passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue on Friday, from 8:00 till 10:00am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm by Deacon Butch Hebert.
Father Garrett McIntyre will officiate the Funeral Mass; Readers, Jeanne Olivier and Pam Olivier. Gift bearers will be Grace, Lucy, and Andre Olivier.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum #2.
A native of Breaux Bridge, Jason was born on August 7, 1972, and was a graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette and the University of Southwestern Louisiana. After receiving his journalism degree, Jason worked for 30 years in the television industry as an executive producer, having served at both KLFY and KATC, as well, as several other top-ranked stations in the southeastern states. While in college, Jason wrote for the USL Vermillion newspaper and served as an SGA Senator for the College of Liberal Arts. Jason was a life-long parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge.
Survivors include his mother, Gail Fuselier Allen; godparents, Dianne F. and Don Olivier; uncle, Guy Fuselier; aunt Vicki Tyler (Mark); cousins, Cy (Jeanne) Olivier, Craig (Pam) Olivier, Chris (Macaela) Fuselier, Eric (Kourtni) Fuselier; his cousins who all affectionately called him "Uncle Jason," Emile, Vincent, Grace, Lucy, Andre Olivier; his half sister, Lisa Allen Anderson.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Edward Allen; uncle, Barry Fuselier; maternal grandparents, Nolan and Gloria Fuselier and his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Sarah Allen.
Pallbearers will be Cy Olivier, Craig Olivier, Emile Olivier, Vincent Olivier, Chris Fuselier, and Eric Fuselier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andre Olivier and David Dugas.
