New Iberia – A memorial service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, for Brian Francis Duplantis, 43, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Tuesday.
A resident of Lafayette, Brian was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on February 19, 1982, to the late Wilbert Francis Duplantis and the late Patricia Fuqua Duplantis Grosselle. To say that he was a shining light in the lives of those who knew him would be an understatement. Brian’s intelligence was matched only by his insatiable thirst for knowledge, a quality that made him a brilliant computer programmer and data analyst. Brian was proud to have graduated from Catholic High School in New Iberia in 2000 and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he laid the foundation for a career that would influence many.
An avid reader, Brian found solace in the pages of countless books, where he journeyed to far-off lands and deep into the minds of great thinkers. His inquisitive nature fueled his love for intellectual games, especially chess, showing his strategic thinking and competitive spirit.
In quieter moments, Brian would play the guitar, pouring his heart and soul into every chord, captivating others witnessing his musical talent.
Brian is survived by two brothers and their children, Tyson Everett Duplantis and daughters, Allie Michelle and Emily Frances; and Bradley Hoffer Duplantis and son, Michael; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He will be laid to rest with his parents at Nativity of Our Lady Cemetery at a later date.
Brian will be deeply missed but always remembered. May he rest in peace.
