Cecil Duplantis, age 80, a native of Dulac and resident of Houma, La., passed away on Monday September 1, 2025.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Anna Duplantis; his daughters, Simone Parfait (Kevin) and Monique Besson (Craig); his grandchildren, Madison Parfait, Jackson Parfait, Evan Besson, Allie Besson and Blake Besson; his brothers, Roger Duplantis, David Duplantis and Merle Duplantis.
Cecil was preceded in passing by his parents, Clinton George Duplantis and Ruth Theron Ewing Duplantis; and his cousin, Davis Duplantis.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in honor of Cecil on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel, beginning at 9:00a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00a.m. Cecil will be laid to rest privately, surrounded by his loving family.
Cecil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Dulac Bass Masters Club and was a Marine Resource Specialist for Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. Cecil was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the “Big 8” fishing camp. He enjoyed distributing free ice cream cards at his restaurant and loved gardening and traveling. Along his life journey, he enjoyed searching for old relics and was a collector of many vintage items including bottles and artifacts, some of which can be found at Southdown Plantation and Museum. Cecil owned, alongside his wife, Anna, CeAna’s Cajun Cookin’ in Dulac. He loved his grandchildren and cherished every moment he was able to spend with them.
