Ronald Joseph Richaud Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Houma, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 9:00 AM until service time at Maria Immacolata Church in Houma, LA. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 AM with burial taking place in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
He is survived by his wife Audrey Hornsby Ross Richaud; two children, Robyn Hornsby and husband Russell, Roslyn Mary Chauvin and husband Marshall; three stepsons, Robert Ross and wife Donna, Darrell Ross and wife Stacey, Christopher Ross and wife Kathy; one stepdaughter Cindy Ross Duet and husband Danny; 6 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Eddie L. Richaud, Sr. and mother Maeola Crochet Richaud; his first wife Marion Belanger Richaud; his second wife Leah Heitkempt Richaud; daughters Roslyn Marie Richaud and Rene' Catherine Richaud; son Ronald Joseph Richaud, Jr.; brother Eddie L. Richaud, Jr.; sister Frances Donaldson; sister Mary Lee Boudreaux; and stepdaughter Miranda Marie Ross.
He was a 1951 graduate of St. Francis de Sales Academy after which he joined the U.S. Navy. He also attended electronics school in Great Lakes, IL. He was then stationed onboard the USS Fulton AS11, a submarine tender, home port New London, CT. Following this, he went to work for Xerox Corporation in 1965, where he retired in 1987 as a Senior Sales Executive.
Ronald enjoyed traveling across the globe with his beloved wife Audrey. Together, they had adventures across the United States, Egypt, Canada, and Europe. He liked to challenge himself by crafting birdhouses and assembling model trains.
He was a longtime member of the Houma Kiwanis Club, a voting commissioner, a charter member of the Grumpy Old Men Club, a member of Le Petit Theatre De Terrebonne, and a member of Maria Immacolata Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regional Military Museum.
