New Iberia – A memorial service will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 11:30 am on Friday, August 29, 2025, for Frederick Charles Dietlein, 62, who passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home in Youngsville.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.
Inurnment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, with military honors by the Iberia Honor Guard.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
A rosary, led by Rev. Keith Landry, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Friday.
Frederick Charles Dietlein was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on January 14, 1963. He was a 1981 graduate of Catholic High School, where he not only excelled academically, but played football and ran track. During his senior year, he was the proud recipient of the Outstanding Academic Athlete Award. After graduation, he continued his education at LSU, ultimately receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL).
Frederick proudly served our country in the Army National Guard for eight years, defining his character and shaping his interactions with others for the rest of his life.
Frederick built a career in the transportation industry, retiring as the Vice President of Corporate Logistics with United Vision Logistics after more than 40 years of service.
Frederick cherished moments spent in nature, whether it was casting a line while fishing, perfecting his swing on the golf course, or enjoying the thrill of hunting. These hobbies fostered connections with both friends and family, creating stories and memories that will be shared for generations to come. He also had a passion for movies, always eager for conversations about the latest films, whether it be the latest blockbuster or an old classic that held a special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Dietlein is survived by his wife, Ronnette Cormier Dietlein; children, Emma Faber (Chris), Alexander Dietlein, and Carter Dietlein (Haven); mother, Jeanette M. Dietlein; step-sons, Nikolas Legros and Tyler Legros; brother, Michael Dietlein (Kathryn); grandchildren, Vivian Rose and Blair Adele Faber; step-grandchildren, Zayli Legros, Adalynn Legros, Mallorie Legros, and Andrew Legros; former wife and mother of two of his children, Julie’ Spedale (Tom); and twin nephews, Brock Anthony Dietlein and Brody Michael Dietlein.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fritz Dietlein.
Frederick’s spirit will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
