Jason Michael Bunge, affectionately known to many as "Muppet," left this world on September 25, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy that was as vibrant and colorful as the life he led. Born on June 3, 1976, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Jason was an electric spirit, embodying a unique mix of brilliance, cleverness, and a charismatic charm that drew people to him wherever he went.

He lived with the courage and the strength to make a huge difference, no matter what life threw at him.

From an early age, Jason displayed an adventurous attitude that would define his life journey. He found joy in the natural beauty of the mountains, often escaping to the great outdoors where he felt free and alive. His passion for motorcycles symbolized his desire for freedom and exploration, and he rode through life with a sense of reckless abandon that inspired others to embrace their own journeys.

Jason had a profound love for music, particularly for the iconic band, The Grateful Dead. As a devoted "Dead Head," he found solace and camaraderie among fellow fans who shared his passion for the band’s rhythm and lyrical depth. Much like the music he adored, Jason was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and empathy.

Throughout his life, Jason was a jokester, brightening the days of those around him with his wit and humor. He held a deep affection for those who felt different or marginalized, believing firmly that every individual has a story worth telling.

His life's creed, “I like weird people. The black sheep. The 8 balls. The left - of - centers. The wallflowers. The bizarros. The loners. The rejects. The outcasts. The outsiders. The odd ducks. The eccentric. The broken. The lonely. The loss and the forgotten.” reflected his commitment to embracing all walks of life. He often championed the lonely, the lost, and the forgotten, offering a caring hand and an open heart to those in need.

Jason was a dedicated son to his mother, Teresa Fedor (Joel Obrecht) and father, Robert (Cheryl) Bunge, and he cherished the bond he shared with his beloved son, Roane Raye. Along with his parents and son, Jason is survived by his half brother Thomas (Jen Rough) Bunge and half sister Melanie (Jason McCann) Bunge. Family was paramount to his existence, and he always put others first, nurturing relationships with a kindness that left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

As he now rides on the eternal highways of memory, we celebrate Jason’s spirited life, reminiscing about the countless moments of joy, laughs, and love he provided to friends and family. His spirit, much like his cherished turtles—symbolic of patience and wisdom—reminds us to be steadfast and compassionate, even in trying times.

Though he is no longer with us, his essence remains woven into the fabric of our hearts, a testament to a man who lived boldly and loved fiercely. Farewell, dear Jason; your light will shine on in the lives of those you touched.
