It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Wade Chapman, on January 7, 2025, at the age of 42. A devoted son, a compassionate sibling, and an incredible father, Jason left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Born on May 6, 1982, in Cumberland, Maryland, Jason was a source of love for his family and friends. He was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan, accomplished chef, and hobbyist, who loved golf, dogs and antiquing. His thoughtfulness reflected his deep love for his family.

Jason was also a cherished sibling, whose kindness and compassion made him a rock of support for his brothers and sisters. Whether with words of encouragement or simply being present in moments of need, he nurtured his family bonds with unparalleled generosity and understanding.

Above all, Jason was an extraordinary father to his beloved son, Jason Walker Chapman. He poured his heart and soul into raising him, ensuring that every moment was filled with love and laughter. Jason built a relationship with his son rooted in trust, and unwavering support—a bond that will continue to inspire and guide him throughout his life.

Jason’s warmth, humor, smile, and kind-hearted spirit touched all who crossed his path. Whether lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing a laugh, he had a rare ability to make others feel valued and cared for. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and an enduring commitment to family and friends.

He is survived by his adored son, Jason Walker Chapman, his ardent parents, Jeffry Lynn Chapman and Linda Lee (Brooks) Chapman, his loving siblings, Linda Wilson and her husband John Wilson, Rick Sivic Jr and his significant other, Holly Williams, Tim Sivic and wife, Geneen Sivic, Walker Chapman and significant other, Pebbles Gipe, Amanda Corrales and significant other Bob Cassidy, the mother of his child, Sara Delaney, and her children, Andrea James, Gabby James, and Jeffrey Delany, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will miss him deeply. Though his time with us was far too short, the love and memories he leaves behind will remain eternal.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm, at Durst Funeral Home, in Frostburg. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10 am, with Chris Skidmore officiating, and all are welcome to attend.

In honor of Jason’s memory and his deep devotion to his beloved son, the family would request donations, in lieu of flowers, to assist with Jason Walker Chapman’s care and education. Any contributions made will ensure that Jason’s dreams for his son’s future can be realized.
