It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Jason Everest, a beacon of strength, loving father of 3, and adoring husband to Lisa Everest, passed away at home on March 16, 2025, after a long, courageous fight against Pancreatic Cancer.
Born July 25, 1977, he is the son of the late Michael Everest and Jeanne (Ruggiero) Everest who survives.
Jason lived a life marked by resilience, love, and an enduring ability to overcome challenges. His impeccable work ethic was always something to be proud of. He took pride in his work, no matter what he did. Whether it be his 20+ years at North Eastern Water Jet, or one of his many projects at home. From recently building a pergola and arbor bench to enjoy the beautiful landscaping he created of plants, flowers and trees, to building garden beds for vegetables, sunflowers and grape vines, along with countless other creations he built over the years. There was nothing he couldn't do.
He was the family chef, who always showed his love through cooking and grilling for his loved ones. When you went to Jason's house, there were always the best meals.
Jason thoroughly enjoyed using the telescope with his children to explore his love of space, galaxies, stars and the unknown.
We appreciate his love for good music, something we all shared together as a family. A few of his favorite bands were Grateful Dead, Pearl Jam, and Dave Matthews Band.
These are just a few of the numerous things we could say about him. Jason was the most generous and giving person - one that would give you the clothes off his back. He was a self-sacrificing father, always putting the needs of others first. Jason will forever be known for his dedication to his family, unwavering spirit, strength, and unique sense of humor that brought light to our lives.
There are no words that can even begin to describe just how strong of a spirit Jason really was. During his long 16-month fight, while enduring all possible treatments until the very end, his immense strength was shown by spending every precious moment possible making lifelong memories at home with his wife and children.
He did not succumb to this horrible disease - he kicked cancer's ass, literally fighting until his very last breath.
He is survived by his wife Lisa (Tomlinson) Everest, his children Emily Everest, Kyle Everest, and Ethan Everest, his siblings Michael Everest and Trista Everest, as well as his extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
