Jason M. Melnick, 52
With heavy hearts, the family of Jason Michael Melnick announces his peaceful passing at the age of 52 on April 4, 2025, at his home in Worthington, OH, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 9, 1973, in Rochester, PA, Jason was raised in East Liverpool, OH, and had called Columbus home for the past 25 years.
Jason was deeply cherished from a young age by a close-knit circle of family and friends. He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1991 and pursued his education at the former Computer Tech in Pittsburgh, PA.
A passionate and dedicated professional in the technology and computer industry, Jason spent three decades immersed in the world of digital innovation.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Cheryl Melott Melnick of East Liverpool; his sons, Paul and Reece Melnick of Boardman, OH; and his daughter, Faith Melnick formerly of East Palestine, OH. Also mourning his loss are his sister, Paula Rector and her husband, Tom, of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews, Evan (Maya) Rector, Michael Rector and grandnephew, Lucas. Additionally, he leaves behind his beloved partner, Laura Clark and her son, Noah. His memory will also be cherished by Bill Clark, Lisa Allen and her son, Nathan, all of Worthington, OH; as well as their three spirited cats and loyal dog, Cavi.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Melnick, maternal grandparents, Mike and Wanda Volino of East Liverpool, OH, and paternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Melnick of Midland, PA.
A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Jason had a deep appreciation for technology, cooking, gaming, and relaxing by the water under the sun. He found joy in storytelling by the fire pit and listening to music across all genres. A talented musician, he played various instruments throughout high school and beyond. Jason enjoyed attending concerts and live music performances by his partner, Laura, and her twin sister, Lisa, of The Clark Twins Band.
Jason will be remembered for his warm heart, sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering strength. He had a rare ability to bring comfort and laughter to those around him, and his lighthearted spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May his memory continue to inspire comfort, love, and joy.
Pastor Court Riddle of the Yeshua Assembly of God will conduct a funeral service Thursday, April 10th at 1:30 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 11:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Jason will be laid to rest next to his father at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
