Charles S. Melnick, age 81, of Renfrew, passed away on Thursday June 19, 2025.
Born October 15, 1943, in Sewickley, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Kuhorski) Melnick.
Charles served in the U.S. Army and had a degree in Engineering. He and his brother Dennis owned their own business called Economy Metals where Charles would use his skills in drafting and creating metal works. Charles enjoyed the simple things in life like cooking Sunday breakfast for his family, gardening, metal detecting and learning about history, especially local history. If you talked to him long enough, he'd point out that Washington's Trail was actually incorrect. He loved watching shows like Dr. Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, westerns and watching football with his son. Charles loved his sons and grandchildren very much of which he was very well pleased.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sons, Jesse (Alicia) Melnick, Ben Melnick and fiancé Monica Snyder, Philip Sr. (Chattele) Melnick, and Jeremy Melnick, and his sons' mother, Julie Melnick, as well as six grandchildren, Abigail, Jacob, Alexandra, Faith, Philip Jr. and Oliver.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother Dennis.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday June 26, 2025, from 1pm to 3 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday June 27, 2025, at 5 pm with Pastor David Maitland, followed by military honors. Dinner to follow immediately after.
