Jason Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by B.C. Bailey Funeral Home - Wallingford on Dec. 8, 2025.
Jason Edward Miller, 38, of Wallingford, CT, passed away tragically in a car accident on December 4, 2025, leaving behind a circle of family and friends who adored his gentle spirit, brilliant mind, and unmistakable zest for life. Born on February 18, 1987, in New Haven, Jason grew up surrounded by love, curiosity, and an early knack for understanding how the world worked.
Jason spent his childhood in New Haven and Wallingford and graduated from Lyman Hall High School, where his passion for mechanics and problem-solving was already impossible to miss. From a young age, he had a natural engineer's instinct - taking apart his Robby the Robot as a baby and accurately identifying the malfunctioning piece or phoning his father at work to warn him that the gas in the motorboat was expanding and leaking from the drain. Jason simply knew things, intuitively and precisely. His mind worked in careful, meticulous ways, always "by the book," yet with an ease that made his skills seem innate.
After high school, he pursued formal training in the trades and built a career doing what he loved most. For the past ten years, he worked as a mechanic with Abel Womack, where he was respected not only for his expertise but also for his reliability, kindness, and quiet dedication.
Outside of work, Jason found joy in caring for his perfect lawn, and the water. Summers at the family cottage on Leetes Island in Guilford and the New Haven Yacht Club were some of the happiest moments of his life. He was fearless and free-spirited, the kind of person who would leap off a sailboat mid-air with a grin on his face. One of his proudest memories was landing the centerfold in a sailing magazine, captured in a moment of pure joy, pure Jason.
Jason had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved Pomeranian, Neo, who was never far from his side. Neo accompanied him everywhere, a constant companion and reflection of Jason's big, tender heart.
He is survived by his mother, Glenna Piring; his father, Edward Miller, and stepmother Sandy Miller; his sisters Katie Cude (husband John) and Krystle Matthews, brother-in-law Scott Matthews; four nieces, Adelena, Penelope, Carly and Zoey; and nephew Scotty Matthews; and his step-siblings Claire Passariello (Nick), James Licata (Courtney), and Valerie Dahlmeyer (Frank), and their children. He also leaves behind extended family and many friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Jason's life, while heartbreakingly short, was rich with meaning-filled with laughter on the dock, long days on the water, loyal companionship, and the unmistakable imprint of a mind that saw the world differently. His spirit, adventurous yet grounded, meticulous yet full of wonder, will live on in every story told and every memory carried forward by those who loved him.
Jason will be profoundly missed, and lovingly remembered, always. A visitation will take place on Friday, December 12th from 4-7pm at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, located at 273 S. Elm St. in Wallingford, followed directly by a service at 7pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that visitors bring a non-perishable food item to be collected and donated to the local food pantry in his honor. B.C. Bailey Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with Jason's final care and arrangements.
