Rosalie Kathleen Torino Izzo, 81, of Northford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. Born on November 22, 1944, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Rose and Americo (Mack) Torino. Rosalie lived a life defined by love, service, and unwavering strength.
Rosalie graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1962 and began her professional career as Secretary to the Manager of WTNH-Radio in New Haven. She married John J Izzo Sr (predeceased) in 1965 and moved to Clinton. While raising their family, she continued to nurture her creative passions. A gifted crafter with a meticulous eye and generous heart, Rosalie spent several years as a consultant to McCall's magazine, where she designed and created knitting and crocheting patterns that were featured in their national "how to" magazines.
Rosalie returned to the workforce, as a teller at the Community Banking Company and ultimately built a long and impactful career with Comcast/Xfinity (formerly Storer Cable of Clinton and New Haven). In addition to her administrative responsibilities with Comcast, she became known for her philanthropic leadership through her work with the United Way. Whether organizing fundraising events or inspiring her peers to support meaningful causes, Rosalie was a tireless champion for others. After 32 years, she retired to focus on what mattered most to her-her family.
Rosalie's greatest joy was gathering around the kitchen table, sharing stories and celebrating her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Even in her final weeks, as she bravely faced her illness, she continued to welcome friends and family into her home-retelling favorite memories, exchanging laughter, and passing down her beloved sauce and meatball recipes.
During quieter moments, Rosalie could be found creating personalized blankets, sweaters, or golf club covers, each one a testament to her devotion to those she cherished most. She also lovingly taught the fine art of knitting and crocheting to those closest to her, ensuring her talents and gifts would be carried forward for generations to come.
Friends and family will remember Rosalie as a passionate woman who loved fiercely, exemplified courage, carried herself with dignity, and embodied strength. She leaves a legacy of creativity, and community that will continue to impact the lives of those she touched-much like the handmade treasures she gave so freely.
Rosalie will be lovingly remembered by her children John Izzo Jr. of Northford, Sandra Izzo Zuccarello (Vince) of Greenwich, and Daniel Izzo (Dale) of Northford as well as those she was most proud of; her grandchildren; Christina Zuccarello, Cayla Zuccarello, Eric Izzo and Tanner Izzo. She is survived by her devoted brother Bill Torino (Mary) of East Haven. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Nicholas Torino (Melissa) of Clinton, Jacqueline Torino Perrelli (Anthony) of North Haven, Michael Torino (Danielle), Mara Torino and Gage Paris of East Haven as well as Nicholas Torino Jr and Maximus Torino of Clinton and Ava Perrelli of North Haven. She is predeceased by her brother and sister-in -law John B. and Patricia Torino formerly for East Haven.
