Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sevier Funeral Home - Tuttle on Aug. 19, 2025.
Jason Alan Motley passed away far too soon on August 15, 2025, at the age of 47, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jason was just 3 weeks shy of his 48th birthday. He will be forever 47! Jason was a Christian and passed on his beliefs to his daughter.
Jason was born on September 6, 1977, in Odessa, Texas. At age 6, he moved with his family to California, where he grew up in Rancho Cucamonga and Hesperia. He graduated from Hesperia High School in 1996, and attended Victor Valley College. He later built a successful career in equipment sales and rentals. In 2014, Jason moved to Blanchard, Oklahoma, where he built a life filled with family, friendship, and love. During his time in Oklahoma he also lived in Dibble, Newcastle, and Tuttle. Jason enjoyed a special bond with his mother, Monnie, and sister, Stephanie, as they lived close to each other.
Above all, Jason was a devoted father. His daughter, Kacey Grace Motley, was the center of his world, and everything he did was guided by the love he had for her. His family meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent together. One of his favorite activities with his daughter was watching movies, particularly disaster movies such as Titanic and Twister. Jason was not a "dog person", but he was very close to a few dogs through the years. He loved his childhood dogs, Snoopy, Buster, and Abby. Most recently, Sadie stole his heart.
Jason is survived by his daughter, Kacey Grace Motley; his stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Jolie Fago; his mother, Judy Motley, of Newcastle, Oklahoma; his siblings, Stephanie (Jeff) Holt of
Tuttle, OK, Aimee (Bill) Williams of Phelan, CA, and Brendan (Stephanie) Motley of Victorville, California; his childhood cousins, Christopher Shults, and Michael Shults; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Hailee Williams, Shane Williams, Jamie Motley, Drew Holt, Alexys Motley, and Austyn Motley. He also leaves behind many extended family members and countless friends who were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his PaPa and NaNa, Ashel Tyler & Helen Doris Shults, Jr.; Grandpa, Max Motley; Uncle, Max Darren Motley; and nephew, Ayden Max Motley.
Jason has always marched to the beat of his own drum, even as a baby. This march continued through his whole life. In fact, he played the perfect instrument in the band in junior high and high school-- the drums. He loved drumming! Music has always been a big part of Jason's life. He shared his love and appreciation of music with his daughter.
Jason played T-Ball, along with his sister, Aimee. He was also a Cub Scout in elementary school, along with his brother, Brendan. He later became a Boy Scout. The start of every school year always included an exciting story of a new girlfriend, starting in kindergarten and continued through high school. During his high school years, Jason could often be found cruising around with his sister, Aimee, in his El Camino while listening to everything from country to rap to oldies, from Sublime to Beastie Boys to The Beach Boys. Jason and his sister Aimee, and his brother, Brendan were like the Three Musketeers through their teen and young adult lives. They were a fun and adventurous trio when they were together. Jason cherished those memories.
Jason will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his generous heart, and the way he could light up a room with his laughter. He had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, and those who knew him will never forget the warmth he brought into their lives.
His legacy lives on in the love he gave, the family he cherished, and the memories that will forever be carried by those who knew and loved him.
