On Friday, March 24th, 2023 Jason Lin Singleton lost his prolonged battle for life. Jason was born, as the second son to Lane and Lynn Singleton at Rome, GA on March 11th 1985. He spent much of his life in and around the Floyd County Community.
Jason was a student of both Johnson Elementary and Model High School. He loved art, music and all things outdoors, including skateboarding and disc golf. He was a fisherman, along with his dad and brother, Josh Singleton. Unfortunately Jason was severely injured in 2017 and as a result of his injuries was confined to a wheelchair. Even from his wheelchair, he enjoyed music and playing his guitar. He maintained a positive outlook on life but the infections and other consequences of his injuries eventually proved overwhelming.
Jason leaves behind a son, Keller Jack Singleton and a daughter, Ruby Lane Singleton both of Rome. His parents Lane and Lynn Singleton, one brother Josh Singleton (Risha) and his two nephews Ayden and Dylan. Grandmother Carol Y. Singleton and Nanny Barbara Singleton-Wood. He is preceded in death by two special cousins, Rebecca Leigh Lumsden and Kimberly Ann Lumsden Lambert, along with his grandfathers, Kenneth L. Singleton, Sr., Otis W.Lumsden and his grandmother, Ruby A. Lumsden-Cornett. Many aunts, uncles and Cousins survive.
A celebration of life service for Jason will be conducted on Saturday, April 1st in the sanctuary at Sherwood Forest Baptist Church, 1 Goodman Rd., Rome, GA 30161 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the Sherwood Forest Baptist Church. A special thank you from the family is also extended to the palliative and hospice nurses and chaplains for being there to support the family, during this difficult time.

Lane, Mrs. Lynn & Josh,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what yall are going thru right now. All the weeping that Jason's friends, acquatiness and extended family can do still cannot feel half of your loss as parents. May God bless your son with heaven.
I cant imagine what you are going through either Josh. I'm a call away if I can do anything to help yall. I'm a call away!
I somehow randomly ran across this quote a bit ago and it instantly brought Jason to my mind. Its something that Jason said in not so many words to me during one of our many hours of long discussions. The following is the quote:
"I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life the way I want to." ...
Unfortunately I cant make it to the Celebration of life but I will be there in spirit and praying for yall!
Jason was a horse of a different color and marched to the beat of his own drum and that's what I loved about him. Jason helped me through some very dark days without even realizing that he was helping me. He'd get bad lonely at times and call me in the middle of the night and we'd talk about everything under the sun and he'd give me a video chat private concert lol he'd get into playing his guitar so much it was like he was in a world of his own. I'd just lay the phone down beside me and listen as he would play for literally hours until I fell asleep on him. He got lonely at times and Lord knows I did too we Bonded over that and kinda made a pack that we'd call each other if we got lonely or feeling more depressed and I'm truly grateful for those times. People dont realize that just taking the time to talk or even just listen to someone can make all the difference in the world!
I love you Josh you will be missed and I know your up there able to wall again and free of all your pain and worries! Tell Uncle Rickey and Aunt Robin I love and miss them when ya get through those pearly gates
With Love,
Hope White

Love you forever Jason and I´m heartbroken your life went a different direction!! I´m confident knowing that when you closed your eyes and drew your last breath on earth, you opened them to see all your family that was waiting on you. No more suffering, pain or addiction and now you´re walking just like you wanted to be able to. Till we meet again, love mom

I am so sad to hear this! So many of my childhood memories are on Keown Rd and none would have been as long lasting and funny if Jason (and Cody) weren´t in them! My heart goes out to his family! I am so sorry :(
