Obituary of Mr. Javan O. Jones, Sr.
Javan was born in Bibb County on March 20th, 1975, to Gladys Jones. He went to Miller Elementary and Northside High School. He has worked many places and lived in Milwaukee for 17 years.
On April 5, 2024, Javan Octavious Jones, Sr. passed away. My father in heaven called my son from this life into his heavenly one. As I think of the joy and love Javan gave to me and the love he showed to others, it is hard to explain. I will always remember him by the smile that he wore on his face, the way he cared for his brothers, and the way that he loved his sister. When my son passed, it was hard and yet I know God gave him peace. As his mother, I can say that he loved each of his children. He left a void in our lives, but filled our life with love, joy, and the peace that God gave him. So, when you think of him, see the smile on his face and see him in each of his children.
To his children he would say: cherish the love that I had for each of you. I am no longer here but know that I love you. Jo Jo, life is meaningful. Live each day to the fullest. Treat others with respect and take nothing for granted. To each of my children: know that I love you. Do not be sad because God has freed me, and I feel like a bird flying high and now I am home.
Javan leaves behind his children: Jordan, Makayla, and Javan Octavious Jones, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Williams, 2 brothers: Shedrick and Timothy, his sister, Tashica Anderson, his aunts: Susie Holmes of Warner Robins, Deloris Dishmood of Macon, Willie Mae Combs, Theresa Holmes of Warner Robins, his uncle: Lewis C. Lowder, and a host of nephews and cousins. He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother: Ella Mae Holmes, maternal grandfather: Willice C. Holmes, his father: Thomas Lee Anderson, his paternal grandfather: Thomas Anderson, Aunts: Elizabeth Gills and Vernell Lynn Brown, and Uncle, Willie Gene Holmes.

I went to Miller with Van. He was a jokester. We would laugh all the time. We would be sitting in class bored and next thing I know I got hit with a pencil. A pencil that came from the ceiling. Van would toss his pencils up and get them stuck in the ceiling tiles. Lol We would have to put our books over our head so we wouldn't get hit. I have thought of him often over the years and missed him. Breaks my heart to hear he is gone. I am deeply sorry for the loss of Van. Y'all are truly blessed to had him in your life. Prayers for the Family and his friends.
