Jay Carleton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory - Springhill Chapel on Mar. 19, 2026.
Jay Patrick Carleton, 55, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. He was born in West Alice, Wisconsin on October 6, 1970, to Keith Carleton and Patricia Hoepfner Carleton. Jay enjoyed fishing, especially deep-sea fishing when he lived in Florida. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, "Go Pack Go". Jay was a truck driver by trade and loved being on the road. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs and working in the yard. Jay was a very giving person, always there to help others, and he had a great sense of humor. His greatest accomplishments and proudest moments were spent with his beloved family and grandbabies. He loved his nieces and nephews so much. Jay was so proud of them, and they lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Stinky Feet". His smile, laughter, and presence will be missed by so many.

Jay is survived by his wife, Misty Carleton, his parents Keith and Patricia Carleton, daughters Samantha Hinesley (Rick), Chyenne Wilson, and Tristan Wilson, sons Michael Turner and Alex Turner both of Michigan;, six grandchildren Ariyah, Amelia, R.J., Ashira, Adaline, and Avayah, brother Guy Carleton (Becky), and Paige DeJarnett (David), beloved friend and brother in law Todd Anderson, as well as several nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, friends, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, special cousin Teddy Gilliam, and beloved dog and companion Jude.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Norman officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
